1. What is a mindset and why is it important to become aware of them?

Your mindset is more than a thought, it’s your lens through which you see the world. It is more than an attitude towards a certain project or topic, it’s your perception of reality, your view of life.

This is why it is incredibly important to become aware of your mindsets and change them to your advantage. Because once you have a strength-based mindset, you have higher levels of self-trust, self-confidence and resilience. All of this is tremendously important in your love life, relationships and work life.

2. Fixed mindset and growth mindset explained

The psychologist Carol Dweck is an expert in the field of how people deal with defeats. After many years of research, she differentiates two types of mindsets: the growth mindset and the fixed mindset.

The growth mindset is categorized through the tendency to consider challenges as opportunities of growth and personal development. It is flexible and dynamic. People with this mindset experience less stress and greater success. They are not particularly afraid of failure since they see it as an opportunity to rise above the challenge and grow stronger.

Contrary to that, the fixed mindset is stuck and less flexible. People with this mindset have a win-lose mindset. They define their self-worth by their level of success, and they see failure as a proof of “I am not good enough”. Usually, they see their successful peers as people who just have it and miss to consider that people only get good at things through effort and work. They are more stressed and less resilient since they don’t tackle the issues and challenges head on.

3. These areas benefit from a switch mindsets (more than you think)

The plain truth: EVERY SINGLE AREA! Mindsets are your views of life and therefore it has an influence on everything. From work, relationships, personal growth, health, happiness, resilience….

If this doesn’t motivate you to tackle your mindsets head on, I don’t know what else will!

4. Tricks to manifest a positive mindset

Knowing all of this, we may ask ourselves, “how can I change them?” This is exactly what I will show you with these 7 tricks.

1. Kickstart your day with a positive morning mindset practice

Gratitude has been a gamechanger for so many people. It is a great way to start your day and rewire your brain to look for the bright side in things. After you wake up, think about ten things that you are deeply grateful for and feel the feeling. Tell yourself: “I am grateful for seeing all this beauty and abundance in my life, I am grateful for all my strength…” to prime yourself for success.

2. Your environment matters

Have you ever noticed that, even though you may have had a good mood, somebody comes along with negative energy and you start to adapt it? Humans are social beings and we do catch up on the energy around us, often more than we may want. Therefore, make sure you have a positive group of friends who choose encouraging words and strength talk over criticism.

3. Call out your inner critic

We all have an inner critic inside of us and it’s time to have an honest conversation with it. Therefore, choose to sit in stillness with your own mind for a bit and watch your thoughts. Try to find out more about your inner critic. Where does it come from? Why is it talking to you like that? Is it really telling you the truth? Do you really want to believe it?

Watch your inner critic and create mental distance to it. It’s not you! It is something that speaks to you and something you hold the power of changing.

4. Shift your mindset to a growth mindset

Challenges will arrive in our lives no matter what we do. But it is never about the challenge itself, it’s how we view it. Try to see it as a chance to rise above yourself and become stronger. Feel the negative and uncomfortable emotions, and try to use them as a catalyst for growth. Remember all your strength and all the times you have successfully overcome challenges as proof that you can do it again. Give yourself a pep talk and remind yourself that you are confident, educated and powerful enough to tackle anything that comes your way!

5. Set specific goals

Goal setting is a great strategy to gain clarity over what you want. And especially in the beginning, setting and achieving goals will help you evolve the confidence you need in order to deepen your positive mindset.

6. Rise above victim mentality

We all love to be victims sometimes. We can easily throw our pitty party in our comfort zones and nothing has to change. We just stay there hoping for others to do the work. Yet, this will keep us stuck. Therefore, choose to rise above that. Start affirming positive and encouraging things and realize that you hold the key in your own hands. Once you choose to be responsible for yourself, everything changes.

7. Believe in yourself and trust the process

It is going to be messy, I don’t want to sugarcoat that. You will experience setbacks, and rewiring your brain takes time. The first months may feel like sooo much effort and sooo little outcome. But trust me, the rewards come after that, exponentially!

Just don’t stop utilizing these tricks and keep working on your beliefs, you’ll thank yourself later.

To sum it all up:

As you can see, mindsets are your foundation and they set you up for whatever you believe in. If you believe in your abilities and strength, it will catapult you to greater success and satisfaction than you could have ever imagined. If you believe in your lack of abilities and mistrust yourself, you will stay where you are and forever hope for a change that may never come. Therefore, be as brave as to switch your mindset, because reality itself stays the same. Yet optimist live longer and with greater satisfaction, so you may want to try that too.

Much love,
